What are Assets?
Files but so much more

Asset Formats

Just-Snips can work with the following asset formats:

Text Assets

TXT
plain text using ASCII or UTF encoding
RTF
Rich Text Formatted using Microsoft's RTF format
SVG
Vector Graphics description assets
HTML
HTML elements or whole pages

Bitmap Assets

BMP
The bitmap you get when copy and pasting using clipboard
GIF
     (anim)
Clipart from the internet, sometimes animated
JPG
Most bitmaps you will encounter from cameras and scanners
PNG
Bitmaps with loss-free compression

At this moment, RAW and TIFF are under consideration, depending your interest. These will most probably be implemented as for-pay features.

Where to get Assets

You can source assets from several locations:

Windows Clipboard
You can ask Just-Snips to check you clipboard for content.
You can check every time you activate the app, but (as a Store App) it is not allowed to continuously check your clipboard.
Import them from Windows file system
You can import assets directly from your computer's file system.
You can create an external library.
This library is based on an existing folder and will track changes in the files in that folder when initialized and on demand.
You can create empty text assets.
Once created, you can use the text editor to provide content.
